NEW CASTLE - Michael Lee O’Shields was born August 5, 1948, in Chattanoog­a, Tennessee to Orville Lee a nd Fr a nce s Martin O’Shields. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pamela, of the home, his three sons, Michael Lee O’Shields, jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Lawton, OK, Kevin Thomas O’Shields and his wife, Karissa, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Patrick Martin O’Shields and his wife, Anne, of Norman, OK. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Hall of Oklahoma City, OK and his brother Robert O’Shields and his wife, Karen, of Phoenix, AZ. In addition, he leaves a legacy of eleven grandchild­ren: Justin, Keelan, Pace, Aiden, Isabelle, Betty, Georgia, Trish, Stephen, Aaron and Koty, as well as two great grandsons, Blake and Ethan.

Michael was a bit of a Renaissanc­e Man. He returned to college at the age of 40 and received a degree in Electrical Engineerin­g Technology. He was a gifted woodworker, loved electronic gadgets of all kinds, and always had the newest “toy”. Michael wrote the song, I Will Call Upon the Lord, among many others, and wrote the book Rethinking Forgivenes­s.

But Michael’s favorite activity was sitting around a table discussing topics of the Kingdom of God. He had a passion for pouring life into God’s people by answering and asking questions. He was an anointed teacher of the word and traveled all over the world.Michael passed from this life into eternity on August 19, 2021 at the age of 73.

Burial will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, August 27, 2021 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. A Celebratio­n of Life will take place from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Tillman Co Food Bank & Event Center 901 N 15th St, Frederick, OK 73542.
