OKC Town Hall lecture series speakers announced
The Oklahoma City Town Hall lecture series will begin Sept. 16 and continue into 2022, featuring the former Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, a physician talking about the aging brain and how to prevent dementia, an award-winning travel expert, political analyst Trey Gowdy, an expert on the Battle of the Little Big Horn and the artist who created Oklahoma City’s Land Run Monument in Centennial Park.
“Our speakers engage audiences with thought-provoking and informative discussions on a wide range of subjects that will bring cultural and educational enrichment to the vibrant Oklahoma community,” Town Hall President Dawn Hopkins said.
The Town Hall Lecture Series dates and speakers will include:
Sept. 16 — Former SEAL Team Six Leader Robert O’Neill, who served on more than 400 combat missions across four theaters of war during his service. During the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, O’Neill became the SEAL who killed the 9/11 mastermind.
Oct. 21 — Dr. Marc Milstein will speak on “Keeping the Aging Brain Healthy, Boosting Memory and Lowering the Risk of Dementia.”
Nov. 18 — Samantha Brown, awardwinning television personality and travel expert, has visited more than 250 cities in 75 countries and 45 U.S. states during the past 20 years, creating more than 200 hours of television programming along the way.
Feb. 17 — News personality and political commentator Trey Gowdy is a former federal prosecutor and was a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives from South Carolina from 2011 to 2019. Gowdy now practices law in South Carolina and is the host of “America with Trey Gowdy.”
March 17 — Western historian Michael Donahue is an award-winning art professor and gallery director at Temple College in Temple, Texas. He has served as a historical interpreter and park ranger at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument for 31 summer seasons, where he has spoken to more than one million visitors.
April 21 — Artist and sculptor Paul Moore has works featured in many national and international galleries and museums and has won numerous prestigious awards for his work.
All lectures will be at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Servant, 14343 N MacArthur Blvd. Seating is limited. A season membership for all six lectures is available for $100. Individual tickets for any lecture may be purchased for $25 on the day of the lecture. In addition, luncheon tickets are available as add-ons to lecture tickets for an additional $120 for the season or $20 for each lecture. CDC guidelines will be followed.
