OKLAHOMA CIT Y - Carrie Lou ( Vinson) Schultz, was born on December 20, 1946 to Ernest Vinson and Rema (Napier) Vinson in Marietta, OK. An immense warrior she peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Carrie met the love her life, George A. Schultz, in 1964 in Dallas, TX. A raven beauty he was besotted. They were married on December 26, 1967 and their life of achievemen­ts and adventures began. They remained each other’s best friend in life. They were a team in business, travel and most importantl­y, parenthood. She and George sought a world outside of what they knew. Learning and expanding themselves in other cultures and scenes were their mission and passed those loves on to their children. Carrie was an avid traveler, reader, and cook. She loved warm weather, westerns, any cooking show, and to tell a great story, which often lasted a while. She was kind, loving and maternal in every way. A natural born care-giver she was a Registered Nurse for 40+ years, 35 years of that focused on adolescent psyche work. She graduated from Marietta High School and went on to graduate from St. Paul’s Nursing School/University of Dallas in Dallas, TX in 1968. She made the world a better place and left an indominabl­e footprint on this earth. George was by her side when she left this world as were her daughter and son. Carrie is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years George A Schultz, her daughter, Janette Elliott with son-in-law Ross Elliott, her son, George “Buddy” Schultz with wife Debra Schultz, her beloved grandchild­ren, Skyler Elliott, Wayne Jaco, and Lauren Jaco, her sister-in-law, Hazel Davis, her sisters Sue Wallace and Barbie Evans, her great-grandchild­ren Taigan and Braedon as well as nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Serenity Funeral Service located at 145 West Main Street, Antlers, Oklahoma. A luncheon will follow at the First Baptist Church of Antlers located at 208 NE B Street, Antlers, Oklahoma.
