Alabama linebacker arrested for DUI

Alabama linebacker Quandarriu­s Robinson was arrested on a driving under the influence complaint after a three-car crash.

Tuscaloosa police said the wreck occurred just after 11 p.m. Saturday and that no one was injured. Robinson, a 20year-old sophomore, remained in the Tuscaloosa County Jail Sunday morning on $1,000 bond.

UTEP 30, NEW MEXICO STATE 3: Jacob Cowing had a career-high 158 yards receiving, including a 59-yard score, and UTEP opened the season with a victory over New Mexico State late Saturday night.

Cowing's yardage came on just five catches, including one for 72 yards, as he finished with his sixth career 100yard game. Gavin Hardison was 11-of-16 passing for 249 yards and an intercepti­on.

SAN JOSE STATE 45, SOUTHERN UTAH 14: Nick Starkel threw for four touchdowns and 394 yards and defending Mountain West Conference champion San Jose State kicked off the season with a win over Southern Utah on Saturday.
