Officer fired after investigation of incident at massage parlor

- Jessie Christopher Smith

An Oklahoma City police officer has been fired over an incident at a massage parlor last year.

Sgt. Alonzo Fields, 30, was fired on Aug. 25 after admitted to all the allegations of misconduct, according to his termination letter.

Fields was charged in Oklahoma County District Court in February with one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of assault and battery. The misdemeanor case is still pending.

In the termination letter, Oklahoma City Police Chief Wade Gourley outlined 12 allegations stemming from the incident at the massage parlor while Fields was off duty.

According to the termination letter, Fields admitted to sending a text message to Studio 132 Massage Therapy and Esthetics, asking “do you have any possible bikini or mutual massaging options.”

Fields had booked an appointment on Sept. 11, 2020, but the employee confirmed the request with intention of notifying police. Upon arrival, Fields — wearing black slacks, a blue shirt and a black mask — presented identification reading “Police Officer” in bright red letters.

When employees questioned Fields for his name and badge number, he refused to provide them. According to police records, Fields pushed one employee into a wall, and when the other employee attempted to intervene, he pushed her away as well.

Other officers responded to an emergency call at the business but Fields had left. While still off-duty, Fields used a former officer’s confirmation number to access computer records of the emergency call. Fields admitted to accessing the records, according to the termination letter.

Fields had been a police officer with Oklahoma City since 2014. A trial is set for December in his misdemeanor case.
