TEENS EARN EAGLE SCOUT RANK

The Boy Scouts of America Last Frontier Council recently announced several teens who have earned their Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank within the Boy Scouts of America program.

Among those becoming Eagle Scouts are Joshua Scott, Lexington; Richie Michael McCabe, Yukon; Jonathan Paul Hawkins, Shawnee; Morgan Ronny Locke, Duncan; and Joseph Kenneth Cook, Edmond.

h Joshua, 17, is a member of Troop 222 chartered to Discover Church, under the direction of Scoutmaste­r Leslie Plummons.

Joshua demonstrat­ed leadership to others in a service project benefiting the city of Lexington, where he built a handicap ramp at the city park gazebo.

When not Scouting, Joshua attends Lexington High School, where he is a state powerlifte­r qualifier, an FFA Grand Champion in Goat Showing and on the principal’s honor roll. His parents are Jeff and Fonda.

h Richie, 18, is a member of Crew 2815 chartered to Grace Episcopal Church, under the direction of Scoutmaste­r Don Bruecks.

Richie demonstrat­ed leadership to others in a service project benefiting Piedmont Elementary School, where he oversaw constructi­on and installati­on of an indoor sensory path for students.

When not Scouting, he attends Piedmont High School, where he participat­ed in marching band and the academic team. His parents are Gary and Christine.

h Jonathan, 16, is a member of Troop 408 chartered to the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, under the direction of Scoutmaste­r John Simon.

Jonathan demonstrat­ed leadership to others in a service project benefiting the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, where he cleaned and organized music storage rooms.

When not Scouting, Jonathan attends North Rock Creek School, where he is a member of the National Honor Society. His parents are Charles and Elaine.

h Morgan, 18, is a member of Troop 4417 chartered to the Duncan First United Methodist Church, under the direction of Scoutmaste­r Scott Locke.

Morgan demonstrat­ed leadership to others in a service project benefiting Camp Waluhi’yi, where he oversaw the renovation of the pioneer hut, which serves as a hub for the camp and is used by all who visit.

h Joseph, 18, is a member of Troop 121 chartered to the Oakdale school district, under the direction of Scoutmaste­r Todd Corbin.

Joseph demonstrat­ed leadership to others in a service project benefiting Connect United Methodist Church, where he oversaw the constructi­on and installati­on of six outdoor benches for the church playground.

When not Scouting, Joseph attends Edmond Memorial High School, where he is a member of the Anime and Gaming Clubs. He plans to attend Francis Tuttle to study animation. His parents are Dean and Tori.
