Mariners 8, ASTROS 5: José Marmolejos hit a tiebreakin­g, two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning and J.P. Crawford padded the lead with two-run homer as the Seattle Mariners avoided a sweep with an 8-5 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

Giants 7, ROCKIES 4: LaMonte Wade Jr. and Evan Longoria each had two RBIs during a four-run rally in the ninth inning and the streaking Giants beat the Rockies 7-4 on Wednesday. The Giants (90-50) won their fourth straight and became the first team in the majors to win 90 games.

Rangers 8, D-BACKS 5: Nathaniel Lowe had three hits, Jose Trevino drove in three and the Rangers beat the Diamondbac­ks 8-5 Wednesday for their fourth straight win.

Twins at CLEVELAND, late: John Gant pitched five solid innings to get his first win since joining Minnesota and spoil Cleveland starter Aaron Civale’s return from injury, leading the Twins to a 3-0 win on Tuesday night.

Tigers at PIRATES, late: Ben Gamel had a go-ahead two-run single in the sixth inning among his three hits and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Mets at MARLINS, late: Pete Alonso hit two home runs, including the 100th of his career, and the Mets beat the Marlins 9-4 on Tuesday night to give Carlos Carrasco his first win with the team.

Royals at ORIOLES, late: Cedric Mullins homered for the third consecutiv­e game and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals 7-3 on Tuesday night. DJ Stewart and Austin Hays also connected for Baltimore, which evened the four-game series at one apiece.

Blue Jays at YANKEES, late: Marcus Semien homered again, Alejandro Kirk went deep twice and the surging Toronto Blue Jays beat the skidding Yankees 5-1 on Tuesday night after New York ace Gerrit Cole exited early with a hamstring injury.

Rays at RED SOX, late: Nelson Cruz homered twice and, at 41 years old, became the oldest player in major league history to hit 30 home runs in a season, powering the Tampa Bay Rays past the Boston Red Sox 12-7 Tuesday night.

Nationals at BRAVES, late: Ozzie Albies hit a tiebreakin­g, two-run homer off Ryne Harper in the seventh inning, Adam Duvall took Paolo Espino deep with an early three-run shot, and the Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 8-5 on Tuesday night.

Reds at CUBS, late: Wade Miley pitched seven effective innings, Nick Castellano­s homered and the Cincinnati Reds got a sorely needed victory, topping the Chicago Cubs 4-3 on Tuesday night.

Phillies at BREWERS, late: Eric Lauer allowed four hits in seven innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 10-0 victory over the Philadelph­ia Phillies on Tuesday night. Avisaíl García hit a tworun homer in his return to the lineup and Eduardo Escobar knocked in three runs as the Brewers maintained their franchise-record 11-game lead in the NL Central over the Cincinnati Reds.

Dodgers at CARDINALS, late: Albert Pujols rewarded an adoring crowd by hitting a home run in his return to Busch Stadium, sending the Los Angeles Dodgers toward a 7-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night.

Angels at PADRES, late: Padres lefthander Blake Snell made another bid at a gem and this one didn’t end so well when the Los Angeles Angels broke up his no-hit try with two outs in the seventh inning and went on to beat the Padres 4-0 Tuesday night.

White Sox at ATHLETICS, late: Gavin Sheets hit a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth, Cesar Hernandez added a two-run single in the same inning, and the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox beat the stumbling Oakland Athletics 6-3 on Tuesday night.
