Need the vaccine?
Several sites are available in area that offer shots and booster doses.
Oklahoma residents over age 12 are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccination. They’re free, safe and highly effective at preventing the worst outcomes from COVID-19, like severe illness, hospitalization and death.
Need to find one? Here are some places to start your search.
Where can I make an appointment?
COVID-19 vaccines are now widely available at many grocery stores, pharmacies, local health departments and other sites.
Some doctor’s offices also stock them, so it’s worth asking your primary care provider if you can get vaccinated at their facility.
To search for vaccination sites near you, visit vaccines.gov to filter by zip code.
You can also narrow your search only to sites that stock the type of vaccination you want: Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
Other options for finding a vaccination appointment include:
Oklahoma Department of Health:
The state’s vaccination scheduling portal, vaccinate.oklahoma.gov, allows residents to register and find an appointment at one of many locations, including local health departments across the state.
Oklahoma City-County Health Department: The Health Department updates its website, vaxokc.com, with information about where it’s offering vaccinations, including some walk-up vaccination opportunities.

What about third or booster doses?
For now, third doses are available to immunocompromised people who have received either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
Third doses are being given at many places that also book first and second doses.
Additional doses haven’t been approved for immunocompromised people who took the Johnson & Johnson shots.
In August, the federal government announced that booster doses would be available to the general public starting Sept. 20.
A third dose is recommended eight months after a person’s second dose. The state Health Department has said it has the supply to accommodate third doses once the official guidance from federal health officials is approved and finalized.
