Stillwater-Bixby takes top billing for Week 3 in high school football

- High School Insider Cameron Jourdan The Oklahoman USA TODAY NETWORK

There's only one week of non-district play left for most Oklahoma high school football teams.

Week 3 of the Oklahoma high school football season is here, and there remain plenty of impactful matchups throughout. Here are The Oklahoman's top 10 games of Week 3:

1. 6A-II No. 3 Stillwater (2-0) at No. 1 Bixby (2-0): After this game was canceled in the 2020 season, anticipation couldn't be higher for either side. Ultimately, the rematch of the 2018 and 2019 Class 6A-II state championship games will come down to how Oklahoma State commit Gabe Brown and Stillwater's defense can slow down OSU commit Braylin Presley, OU commit Luke Hasz and the Bixby offense.

2. 3A No. 1 Tulsa Holland Hall (2-0) at 2A No. 1 Tulsa Metro Christian (2-0): What's better than a matchup between two defending state champions? Holland Hall and Metro Christian each will provide a strong test heading into district play.

3. 3A No. 9 Berryhill (2-0) at 4A No. 2 Cushing (2-0): Berryhill is off to a strong start on both sides of the ball, but it faces its biggest test yet trying to stop Cushing's offense, which is averaging 41.5 points per game thus far.

4. 5A No. 4 McGuinness (1-1) at 6A

II No. 8 Del City (1-1): Both teams are coming off huge rivalry wins in Week 2. The ground game will be key, with McGuinness junior Michael Taffe looking to outduel the Del City trio of Virgil Yates, Ethan Lawrence and Jayson Smith.

5. 4A No. 8 Grove (2-0) at 5A No. 9 Pryor (2-0): Grove quarterback Carson Trimble has started his season well, but Pryor's defense will face a stiff test heading into district play.

6. A No. 6 Woodland (2-0) at No. 7 Mooreland (1-0): Both teams played into December last season and returned most of their starters, leading to high expectations heading into the season. A win would be a huge momentum builder heading into district play.

7. 2A Chandler (1-1) at No. 4 Beggs (1-1): Stout rushing attacks will be on display in this matchup, with Chandler's Casmen Hill trying to outmatch the duo of Oklahoma State commit CJ Brown and up-and-coming star Red Martel.

8. 2A No. 8 Millwood (1-1) at 4A No. 3 Clinton (1-1): Millwood and Clinton's only losses have come against Heritage Hall, but whoever controls the run game will have an advantage in this matchup.

9. 4A John Marshall (1-1) at 3A No. 3 Heritage Hall (2-0): The Chargers are off to a great start, especially senior Gavin Freeman. This rivalry will come down to whether John Marshall can slow Freeman down enough to pull off the upset.

10. A No. 1 Cashion (2-1) at Thomas (0-2): A rematch of the Class A state championship last year pits Cashion as a heavy favorite against Thomas, but the Terriers could turn their season around with an upset win.

*All games Friday unless noted.
