OKLAHOMA CITY - Henry Thomas Moran II ( Tom), affectionately known as “Peeps” by his adored grandchildren, was born on May 12, 1946 in Oklahoma City to Henry Thomas Moran (Hank) and Stella Duggan Moran. He passed away on September 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Tom, also known as Tommy by his sisters and lifelong friends, graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School and Oklahoma City University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to work for his father at Hank Moran and Associates. This began his professional career in the insurance industry which continued for 50+ years, the last 21 years as a court appointed receiver/trustee and trusted consultant in the Life Settlement industry. Many have attributed his professional success to his honesty and integrity.

Tom was called by Christ to serve others and he did so in many capacities; The Sisters of Benedict in Oklahoma City, International Gospel Mission, Deliverance Ministries and various ministries of the Crystal Beach Community Church. Always at the beck and call of a soul in need, he had a wide influence within the recovery community in Oklahoma City and at Crystal Beach. His phone would ring at all hours of the day, during family weddings and midnight mass.

In 1997 Tom married Jane McCleskey and together they built a great life, including starting several businesses, remodeling homes and traveling. Whether they were in Oklahoma, the Virgin Islands, Bolivar or Paris, they enjoyed time with friends old and new alike, entertaining, cooking unusual things such as cassoulet, prickly pear syrup and alligator, watching OU win, serving in the church and spending time with loved ones. Tom made everyone feel welcome and special. He never met a stranger and cherished his life-long friendships.

He loved sharing his passion for cooking, gardening, sports (particularly those in which his grandkids were participating), music, adventure, loving others more than himself, not being afraid to try new things and most importantly, his Savior Jesus Christ. He was the greatest supporter of his family and their activities, rarely missing an opportunity to be together, displaying his servant heart and selfless spirit.

Tom is survived by Jane, his wife; sisters Ginny McCann, Francie Day, Patti Walbridge (Skip); his children Trey Moran (Apryl), Megan McMurphy (Curt), Erin Hughes ( Jeff ), and their mother Victoria Nash (Steve); Brian Eischeid (Alexandrea) and Meredith Smith (Keith). Grandchildren Brielle Moran, Makenzie Cochran ( Jed), Chandler Newton, Cole McMurphy, Will McMurphy, Tyler Carlson, Tristan Hughes, Emma Hughes, Benjamin Eischeid, Charlotte Eischeid, Charli Smith and his beloved goldendoodle, Ryder. Loving nieces and nephews Mike McCann, Steve McCann, Greg McCann, Kay McCann, Terry Day, Debbie O’Connor, Kevin Day, Missy Wyszynski, Tyler Walbridge and was proceeded in death by Shauna Walbridge and Lance Walbridge.

Tom will always be remembered for his Peeps’ Porings impartations of sage advice, spicy food, puns, driving with his knee while reading the paper, world class sense of humor and limitless nicknames for those he loved. We will forever treasure our memories of searching for sea glass, OU/Texas weekends, treasure hunting with the grandkids in the BVI, spontaneous road trips, concerts, his mischievous grin, fireworks and his knack for gift giving idiosyncrasies.

As Tom had the gift of healing through his Lord Jesus Christ, he is now perfectly healed and living in Glory with his Savior!
