COLLEGE BASKETBALL: The Oklahoma women’s team will open Big 12 play on Jan. 2 at Texas Tech. The Sooners will play their first conference home game on Jan. 5 against Iowa State in Lloyd Noble Center. The entire OU schedule will be announced at a later date.

NBA: The Memphis Grizzlies have waived center Marc Gasol days after acquiring his rights in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. They acquired Gasol from the Los Angeles Lakers along with a 2024 second round draft pick and cash for the draft rights to center Wang Zhelin (57th overall in 2016) on Sept. 10.

VOLLEYBALL: Freshman middle blocker Megan Wilson collected 20 kills and hit .425, while senior outside hitter Savannah Davison tallied 14 kills to lead Oklahoma to a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 33-31, 25-15) of Abilene Christian on Tuesday night at McCasland Field House.
