2 Steve Stricker will be looking to win the Sanford Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D., for the 2nd time a week before captaining the United States Ryder Cup team next week at Whistling Straits on Sept. 24-26. He won this event in its inaugural year (2018) after firing a 67 in blustery conditions. Sticker’s last PGA Tour Champions appearance ended in a win at the Bridgestone Senior Players.
3,000 Despite his 20th top-10 finish of the 2020-21 season, Bernhard Langer’s lead over Jerry Kelly in the Charles Schwab Cup money list is less than $3,000.
Who to watch
Fred Couples finished T-26 in his last start, but rattled off five straight top 10s before that. He was in the field last year at the Sanford Invitational and finished T-25. He will be part of Steve Sticker’s staff at the Ryder Cup next week as a vice captain.
