Oklahoma State survived in a throw-back game behind key plays from some unlikely heroes.

The Cowboys beat Boise State 21-20 late Saturday night at Albertsons Stadium, home of the famous blue turf.

Jaylen Warren had a career rushing day. Jason Taylor II saved the day with a blocked field goal. Walk-on Cale Cabbiness sealed the game with his firstcareer catch.

OSU is now 3-0 heading into next week’s Big 12 opener against Kansas State. Here is a look at the game through the numbers:`

24: The number of yards walk-on and former Norman North standout Cale Cabbiness gained on his first-career catch, a leaping grab in tight coverage on third down with less than 2 minutes remaining to seal the game.

218: Total rushing yards for Warren, a career high on 32 carries.

246: Number of total rushing yards for the Cowboys, which tops their combined rushing total in the first two games. Against Missouri State and Tulsa, OSU totaled 194 yards.

7: Number of passing yards for OSU quarterbac­k Spencer Sanders in the opening half. He completed just 1 of 6 passes in the half. Ultimately, Sanders finished 6 of 13 for 87 yards.

21: Straight rushing plays for OSU, ranging from the second quarter into the third. OSU carried the ball a whopping 57 times compared to throwing just 13 passes.
