TONIGHT’S GAME
DETROIT (0-1) AT GREEN BAY (0-1)
TV: 8: 15 p.m. ET, ESPN
Tipico line: Packers by 11 1⁄ 2
Lions’ keys: Win the line of scrimmage, control the ball and get a takeaway or two. Detroit doesn’t have to search hard to find the blueprint; the Saints provided one in Week 1. Dan Campbell’s team needs to protect QB Jared Goff on offense and keep Packers QB Aaron Rodgers under pressure on defense. Making the Packers one-dimensional on offense and dominating time of possession with the run game will give the Lions a chance to win. Forcing the Packers into a mistake or two would also help. Matt LaFleur’s team turned the ball over three times against the Saints, including two interceptions by Rodgers.
Packers’ keys: Get the offense back on track and create negative plays on defense. Getting the run game going and creating better protection for QB Aaron Rodgers should be priorities. The reconfigured offensive line will be in the spotlight. The defense needs to rebound by creating negative plays and getting the Lions off schedule. Coming out with better energy is a must.
