The Rev. Franklin Graham has a message for Oklahomans.

In the midst of a global pandemic — understandably a time of anxiety and uncertainty — the evangelist wants to reassure people of one thing.

God loves them.

“People are asking ‘Where is God in all of this? Has God turned his back on us? Is he mad at us? Is he judging us?’” Graham said during a telephone interview on Monday.

The evangelist plans to deliver his message of hope in person when he visits Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. Saturday, on the south lawn of the state Capitol, 2300 N Lincoln. Oklahoma City is one of eight stops he’s scheduled to make along historic U.S. Route 66 as part of the “Route 66 God Loves You Tour.”

The event is being promoted as a free celebration of God’s love for his people. It will include live music from the Newsboys and other musicians.
