Blessing of the Animals events are planned in metro area

Numerous metro-area churches have planned “Blessing of the Animals” events in conjunctio­n with the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, on Oct. 4. The following churches are hosting Blessing of the Animals events in the coming days:

● Christ the King, 8005 Dorset Dr., Blessing of the Animals, 9 a.m. Oct. 2, church’s north parking lot. Informatio­n: https://www.ckokc.org.

● St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5024 N Grove, Warr Acres,

Blessing of the Animals, 9 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2, on the breezeway between the church and the activity center along Grove Street. All animals welcome, but they must be firmly held, caged or leashed.
