OU BY THE NUMBERS

- – Justin Martinez, Staff writer

Oklahoma earned a 16-13 win over West Virginia in a Week 4 matchup. Here are some notable numbers from the contest.

7: The Sooners were held to seven points at halftime for the second week in a row. Prior to last week’s game against Nebraska, OU hadn’t been held to seven points in the first half of a game since Sept. 9, 2017.

14: The Sooners trailed at halftime on Saturday for the first time in 14 games. OU last trailed at the halfway mark of a contest on Dec. 28, 2019, in its 63-28 loss to LSU.

21: A bad snap led to a loss of 21 yards and derailed a potential gamewinning drive by West Virginia with 3:39 left in the game. OU marched down the field on the ensuing possession and won the game via a 30yard field goal by kicker Gabe Brkic.

6: After being booed by fans in the first half, OU quarterback Spencer Rattler redeemed himself by completing all six of his passing attempts for 54 yards on the Sooners’ gamewinning drive.

2019: The Sooners erased a fourthquarter deficit for the first time since Nov. 16, 2019. OU trailed Baylor 3117 entering the fourth quarter before scoring 17 unanswered points to earn a 34-31 win. The Sooners trailed the Mountaineers 13-10 entering the final quarter of Saturday’s contest and ultimately secured a 16-13 victory.

16: The Sooners scored 16 points on Saturday. It’s the team’s lowestscoring point total in a winning effort since Sept. 7, 2013, when it earned a 16-7 win over West Virginia.
