OKLAHOMA CIT Y - Nancy Louise Stone passed away on September 27, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born January 3, 1937 in Wichita Falls, TX to Frank and Loudell (Bridges) Hunter. After graduating from Wichita Falls Senior High, she attended the University of Texas in Austin, TX, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, and University of Illinois in Urbana, IL.

She married Lowell Stone on August 17, 1954. Together they had 3 daughters: Brenda, Sharon, and Donna. Nancy and Lowell enjoyed their time together and raising their daughters until his passing on November 16, 1984. After her husband’s death, Nancy worked as a legal secretary for lawyers and CPAs.

As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmothe­r, she spent most of her hours trying to keep up with her family’s lives and helping them where she could. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church, where she served as a Lector and Communion Minister until her health prevented her from serving. During her time at Epiphany, she also served on several boards, chaired Renew, devoted her time to RCIA, and helped prepare the church for funeral services.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Lowell. She is survived by her three daughters Brenda McMenamy and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, Sharon Mitchell and husband Rick of Oklahoma City, and Donna Gaines of Weatherfor­d, TX; grandchild­ren Michael and Landon Poteet, Chelsea Cioli, Madison and Zachary Mitchell, Lauren and Garret Gaines, and Breck and Reef Nesky; sister Barbara Crumpler and husband Paul of Wichita Falls, TX; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousin, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7PM Thursday, September 30 at Smith & Kernke – 23rd St. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM Friday, October 1 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resurrecti­on Memorial Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, American Cancer Society, or to the American Heart Associatio­n.
