Bulldog rescue receives $50,000 grant

-

The Leslie L. Alexander Foundation, of Delray, Florida, awarded $50,000 grant to the Tornado Alley Bulldog Rescue. The rescue is dedicated to abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless English Bulldogs in Oklahoma. It was anonymously nominated for the award.

The foster-based volunteer organization does not operate a shelter, but instead matches each dog with a home best suited to meet its needs.

The temperament and behavior of each dog is carefully evaluated while in foster care.

Dogs are also taught house manners, basic obedience skills and are socialized while in foster care.

The Oklahoma-based organization has limited resources and hopes to expand its volunteer base and funds so it may continue to help more dogs in need.
