NFL suspends former OU star McCoy six games

-

Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has been suspended six games for violating the National Football League’s policy on performance enhancing substances.

McCoy, who played at Oklahoma and Southeast High School in Oklahoma City, is out for the season after hurting his knee in the season opener and can serve the suspension handed down Wednesday while he is out this season. McCoy said in a statement that the positive test resulted from something he was prescribed to help deal with a previous injury. He called it an “honest mistake” that he takes full responsibility for the violation.

PATRIOTS: The average ticket price to see Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in his return to face the New England Patriots on Sunday night is $1,101, which ranks among the most expensive tickets for any sporting event in Boston-area history, according to Vivid Seats. EAGLES: Veteran running back LeSean McCoy will sign a one-day contract with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring from the NFL after a 12-season career.
