Bears take unbeaten record on road
Baylor has sprinted back into the Top 25 on the legs of its running game. Bears tailbacks Abram Smith and Trestan Ebner are both averaging more than 7.0 yards per carry.
Ebner was also named the Big 12’s Special Teams Player of the Week, after he logged 168 return yards against Iowa State, including a 98-yard kickoff return.
Now the Bears face their toughest road test: Stillwater.
Keys for Baylor
Bo can go: If quarterback Gerry Bohanon can continue to have clean games, the Bears can succeed in the league. So far this season, he has seven passing touchdowns (along with four on the ground) and zero picks.
Ground em up: The Bears average 6.6 yards a carry and have 12 touchdowns rushing. Ball control and timely passing make Dave Aranda’s squad a ranked team.
Keys for Oklahoma State
Get up early: The Cowboys needs to start strong to engage the home crowd and make it hard on Baylor’s offense to communicate. If The House that T. Boone Built gets rowdy, it could be a long night for the Bears.
Split the uprights: In what will surely be a tight game, Oklahoma State kicker Alex Hale needs to improve his accuracy. Hale has missed all three of his kicks from longer than 40 yards, and that conversion rate could cost the Cowboys games.
Prediction
Oklahoma State 31, Baylor 21
