HIGH SCHOOLS: Three players from Oklahoma are on the Maxwell Football Club’s National High School Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year Awards Watch List. Edmond Santa Fe receiver Talyn Shettron is a candidate on offense. Owasso lineman Chris McClellan and Tulsa Washington defensive back Gentry Williams are nominees on defense.

JIM THORPE AWARD: Oregon junior safety Bennett Williams is the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Player of the Week. He had eight tackles and two interceptions, one that was returned 68 yards for a touchdown during the Ducks’ 41-19 win over Arizona last Saturday.
