Scouting Texas
Record: 4-1 (2-0 Big 12) Best player: Bijan Robinson is the engine to Texas' offense. The sophomore running back is averaging 166 total yards of offense and 1.8 touchdowns per contest this season. Robinson is also coming off a game against TCU in which he ran for a career-high 216 yards and two touchdowns on 35 carries. The case for Texas: This is the biggest test yet for OU's defense. The Longhorns are averaging 43.8 points per game, which ranks first in the Big 12, and they've been thriving since benching quarterback Hudson Card in favor of Casey Thomspon. The Sooners have leaned on their defense to come out on top of close games this season, but they'll have their hands full on Saturday. The case for Oklahoma: Texas' defense is far from stout. The Longhorns have a defensive efficiency of 146, which ranks ninth in the conference, and OU's offense is trending upward after a solid outing against Kansas State. The Sooners racked up 37 points and got strong performances from Kennedy Brooks and Marvin Mims, who were both quiet in the weeks leading up to the contest.
