Juanita’s passion in life was servanthood. She was born into a sharecropper’s family at the end of the Great Depression and at a young age learned to work and care for other families’ younger children while their parents looked for work. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 13 and began her Christian walk of servanthood to Christ and to mankind. She married Al Dorrough and the United State Army, serving active duty as a military wife for over 20 years. After the military service Al became a pastor and Juanita served as a pastor’s wife for over 34 years. Along the way she raised her four children, worked various jobs in retail sales, served her churches and the communities she lived in. Her life as a servant set an example for her children and grandchildren. She often expressed that her desire for her family was for them to be “faithful servants for the Lord.”
“She left a precious memory for everyone to follow.” Al “Papa” Dorrough.
