Simmons reports to 76ers
Sources told ESPN that 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons reported to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Monday night. The disgruntled guard was not expected to show up until later in the week.
As the Sixers neared the tip of a 115104 preseason victory over the Brooklyn Nets, Simmons entered the arena to take a COVID-19 test and start the process of returning to a team from which he has requested a trade, sources said.
The Sixers are desperate to restart communication with the three-time AllStar who hasn't had a direct conversation with the front office since an August meeting in which he reiterated his desire for a trade.
