Russia sets another daily record for COVID-19 deaths
MOSCOW – Russia on Wednesday reported another record of daily COVID19 deaths amid a slow vaccination rate and authorities’ reluctance to tighten restrictions. The coronavirus task force reported 984 virus-related deaths over the prior 24 hours, the pandemic’s new high. Russia, which has repeatedly marked record daily tolls in the past few weeks, reported 28,717 newly confirmed cases Wednesday. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Tuesday that about 29% of the nation’s nearly 146 million people were fully inoculated.
