Luther wide receiver and defensive back Daviion Wyckoff and Piedmont softball player Tayvin Davis were voted as The Oklahoman’s Athletes of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

Wyckoff, a senior, had four catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns, an 80-yard kickoff return, six tackles and an intercepti­on for the Lions in a 47-15 win against Alva.

Davis, a junior, recorded seven hits in 10 at-bats this week, including a home run to help lead Piedmont back to the state tournament. Davis also had five RBI and eight stolen bases.

Last week’s poll will be the final for cross country, fastpitch softball and volleyball. Football will continue into the playoffs.
