OKLAHOMA CITY - Phyllis Olson, of Oklahoma City, passed away October 11, 2021, after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born to Virgil and Winifred Scott in Drain, Oregon on October 21, 1934. She married Dr. Robert L. Olson, whom she met at Portland State college in 1957. They had two children, Marla Olson, of Annecy, France, and Monica Olson Speissegge­r of Phoenix.

Phyllis taught primary school in Portland, Oregon and in Florida before moving to San Diego where her children were born. The familymove­d to Oklahoma City in 1962. Phyllis and her husband Bobmademan­y friends in Oklahoma City. Phyllis was active in the Symphony Decorator Show House organizati­on and the FacultyWiv­es of theOUmedic­al center. She was an avid player of tennis and bridge. The family loved to travel in the US and in Europe, and Phyllis adored hiking all her life, as did her own parents and grandparen­ts. She loved art and nature and noticed all that was beautiful.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents and sister, Pat. In addition to her daughters, Monica andMarla, she is survived by her grandchild­ren, Alison and Emily, and by their partners in life, Kurt, Marion, Thomas and Joseph, her niece, Jan Younger, and many other family members and friends.
