Man shot dead in wheelchair at SW Oklahoma City apartment

A man in a wheelchair was shot and killed Wednesday inside his home in southwest Oklahoma City.

Police responded Wednesday evening to calls of a shooting at Almonte Apartments near SW 59 and May Avenue. Officers found 48-year-old Anthony J. Bronner dead inside his apartment. He had been shot multiple times while in his wheelchair.

Neighbors told police they saw a truck speed away, but so far, no arrests have been made.

“We have not been able to identify a suspect,” said Sgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “There is nothing new on that at this time.”

Staff at the apartment complex refused to comment on the matter. The investigat­ion is ongoing. Anyone with relevant informatio­n is encouraged to call the Homicide Tip-Line at 405-297-1200.
