Gayle Dean Davis
Mr. Gayle Dean Davis, beloved math teacher at The Casady School for over 40 years, passed away on September 24 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Gayle was born in Lone Wolf, OK in 1939, the youngest of six children of Stafford Davis and Vera Bryan Davis. He was predeceased by all his siblings but is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK, Gayle began his teaching career at Burns Flat High School. After obtaining masters degrees from the University of Southern California and the University of Oklahoma, he joined the faculty of The Casady School and taught there until he retired.
Gayle enjoyed travel, sailing and the satisfaction of seeing his students grasp the concepts of higher mathematics.
