Second suspect arrested in Harrah homicide
Another suspect is in custody nearly two months after authorities found a man shot dead in Harrah.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff ’s personnel arrested Aaron John Wilson, 19, and he remains in the Oklahoma County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
“We believe the motive is burglary,” sheriff ’s spokesman Aaron Brilbeck said.
Sheriff ’s investigators were called to a home near Reno Avenue and N Harrah Road on Aug. 28. There they discovered the body of Stephen Courtemanche, 64, who had been shot to death.
An AK-47 rifle was stolen from the scene where Courtemanche was killed, authorities said.
Investigators say a 15-year-old boy told them he and Robert Stockton, 17, who was arrested in a separate homicide case, picked up an associate of Stockton’s on the way to Courtemanche’s home.
Investigators believe the associate is Wilson. He is suspected of kicking in the front door of Courtemanche’s home.
The 15-year-old told investigators Stockton “pointed his 9mm handgun inside the bedroom and began shooting,” according to the affidavit.
The boy was arrested and is accused of first-degree murder. He was transported to the Oklahoma County jail for processing and subsequent housing at the Pawnee County jail. Formal charges have not yet been filed, court records show.
The Oklahoman does not typically identify juveniles in criminal cases and is not identifying the 15-year-old because he has not been formally charged.
Stockton has been named because police were searching for him as an allegedly armed and dangerous suspect.
Stockton has not been arrested in the case of Courtemanche’s death, authorities said.
However, he was arrested and is suspected of fatally shooting his stepfather, Anthony “Tony” Cannon, 43, then burning the body with the help of his mother.
