GYMNASTICS: Former Oklahoma star Yul Moldauer advanced to the men's all-around final at the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics Championsh­ips. The event is scheduled for Friday in Kitakyushu, Japan, and will be televised by the Olympic Channel at 5 p.m.

NHL: Former New York Islanders winger Mike Bossy, who helped the team win four straight Stanley Cups, disclosed that he's been diagnosed with lung cancer. Bossy, 64, had 573 goals and 1,126 points over 10 seasons with the Islanders, hoisting the Cup every year from 1980-83.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Kentucky plans to honor former coach Tubby Smith, who led the Wildcats to the 1998 NCAA men's championsh­ip and multiple Southeaste­rn Conference titles, by retiring a jersey on Dec. 31. ... Gonzaga coach Mark Few has pleaded guilty to misdemeano­r driving under the influence in Idaho and must pay a fine of $1,000 in lieu of spending four days in jail, according to court documents.
