HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for March 28-April 3. The deadline is noon Friday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Here are the nominees for March 28April 3:

Baseball

RJ Morris, So., Bethel: Morris was nearly perfect last week, going 7-for-8 at the plate (.875) while also throwing 13 strikeouts in a complete-game outing. Bethel recorded an undefeated week. Cole Riggs, Sr., Piedmont: Riggs batted 10-for-18 (.556) with one double, six runs, four RBI and nine stolen bases in five games. Piedmont won four of its five games during the stretch. Jackson Holliday, Sr., Stillwater: Holliday went on a tear in five games, batting 12-of-18 (.667) from the plate with 12 hits and five home runs. He also turned in eight RBI, 10 runs and 5 stolen bases.

Boys golf

Jack Hope, Sr., Deer Creek: Hope finished second during the Deer Creek tournament and collected another top-10 finish during Owasso's tournament on Saturday

Parker Sands, So., Edmond North: Picked up a win Saturday in Owasso's tournament, winning by four shots. Also placed sixth at Hidden Trails last Monday, with the Huskies winning both tournament­s.

Girls golf

Brooklyn Benn, Sr., Oklahoma Christian School: She won her third tournament this year, shooting a 76 at the Bixby Invitation­al on Monday.

Jaeya Mathis, Jr., Westmoore: She picked up a pair of victories last week at the Choctaw tournament and at Westwood in Norman.

Slowpitch softball

Taylor Cronic, Jr., Moore: Cronic went 9-of-14 from the plate with four doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs.

Hannah Earlywine, Jr., North Rock Creek: Earlywine tallied a .789 batting average (15-of-19) in seven games last week. She totaled 21 RBI, nine home runs and 14 runs in the stretch. Katelyn Fleming, Jr., Tecumseh: Fleming recorded a .596 batting average, two home rus and 10 RBI in the Savages' six wins.

Boys soccer

Roman Hemphill, Sr., Edmond Memorial: In a 2-0 win against Piedmont, Hemphill scored both goals to continue his great start to the season

Ashton House, Sr., Westmoore: The forward was pivotal in helping Westmoore pick up a pair of victories last week. He scored three goals and added an assist.

Cole Rother, Sr., Mustang: In a 3-0 district win against U. S. Grant, the center back netted two goals to help the Broncos pick up a big victory.

Girls soccer

Sami Allen, Sr., Noble: She scored four of Noble's five goals in a shutout win against Elgin. The forward has scored 32 of the Bears' 33 goals this season.

Ashlanne Fuentes, Sr., Mount St. Mary: She scored 11 of Mount St. Mary's 21 goals last week, continuing her stellar season.

Hannah Montoya, So., Southmoore: The SaberCats tallied three victories during a tournament in Alabama last week, and Montoya scored two goals and added four assists.

Boys tennis

Gavin Clark, Sr., Crossings Christian: Clark and fellow senior Parker Dillon won the No. 1 doubles title at the Crossing Christian Invitation­al last week. Clark and Dillon are having a strong year. Last month, they combined in a victory at the Rother Cup, which includes Oklahoma's Christian high schools.

Chris Do, Sr., Mustang: Do and his partner, freshman Cristian Salas, claimed the No. 2 doubles championsh­ip at the Edmond Memorial Bulldog Invitation­al on Saturday.

Girls tennis

Lauren Krise, Fr., Edmond Memorial: She won the No. 1 singles title at the Edmond Memorial Bulldog Invitation­al on Saturday, defeating Deer Creek standout Emma Turner in the finals.

Sarah Miller, Sr., McGuinness: She had a stellar day at Crossings Christian's tournament last week, winning the No. 2 singles title.

Emma Turner, Sr., Deer Creek: She had a busy week. Turner claimed the No. 1 singles title at the Crossings Christian Invitation­al, placed second at Edmond Memorial's tournament and third at Deer Creek's tournament.

Boys track

Ezra Johnson, Jr., Yukon: He won the long jump with a leap of 23-1 and helped Yukon claim the team title at Putnam City's Adam Helms and Gray Wright Memorial meet on Tuesday. Xavier Meier, Jr., Bethel: He has picked up where he left off from his breakout sophomore season. Meier, who was one of the best in Class 3A last year in the 400-meter dash, won the event in 51.37 at Tecumseh's meet Friday. Xavier Simpkins, Jr., Westmoore: He played a key role in Westmoore's victory Friday at Piedmont's meet and thrived in his individual events, winning the 100 (11.03), 110 hurdles (14.54) and 300 hurdles (39.67).

Girls track

Alaysianea Dixie, So., Choctaw: She won the 100 hurdles (16.04) and 300 hurdles (50.88) at Southmoore's meet Friday.

Sana’a Donner, Sr., Del City: She had an impressive performanc­e in the 100 at Putnam City's meet Tuesday, winning the race with a time of 12.71.

Kinley Kite, So., Norman North: She claimed three gold medals at Putnam City's meet. Kite finished the 800 in 2:26.96, the 1,600 in 5:31.49 and helped Norman North record a time of 10:10.76 in the 4x800 relay.
