Martha JeanMahl

EDMOND - Martha Jean (Robinson) Mahl was born on February 7, 1936 in Okemah, OK to Carmen (Browning) Robinson and Ray Robinson. She passed on November 21, 2022.

Martha was a little girl when her family moved to San Francisco so her dad could find work in the shipyard. Her family lived in San Francisco several years before returning to Oklahoma and eventually moving to Elk City, OK. Martha graduated high school and then took business classes at SWOSU. She began working in finance at CIT. It was while she was working at CIT that she met the love of her life, Donald Mahl, at a baseball game. They married on August 15, 1956 at Holy Family Church in Canute, OK. They were married for 63 years. Martha and Donald moved for Donald’s work several times. From Elk City they moved to Oklahoma City, Denver, CO and Houston, TX where they both worked and retired from Shell Oil Co. After retiring in 1989, they returned to Elk City and then to Edmond, OK to be close to their daughter and her family. Martha was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Donald loved to travel and took their family to Walt Disney World many times. Martha and Donald attended church at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where they were very active in the Time Out program for seniors. Martha was a wonderful cook, and she made the best coconut crème pie EVER. She was loved beyond measure and she will be in our hearts forever.

Martha is survived by her daughter Karen and her husband Cliff and her grandsons and their wives, Andrew Fagan & Meghan of Kansas City, MO and Matthew Fagan and Elisabeth of OKC. Martha is also survived by her brother Allen and his wife Kathy, and her sisters-in-law Charlotte Brandt and Linda Dunn and husband Russell and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Donald, baby daughter Janet, her brother Gerald, and her parents Ray and Carmen.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Edmond, OK.

Winnie the Pooh said it best, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Love you Mom and give everyone a hug for me……… until we meet again.
