WARR ACRES - Alice Mae Story, 82, of Warr Acres, OK, passed from this life to her rewards in Heaven on January 25, 2023, in the Bellevue Rehab Center, Oklahoma City. She was born September 5, 1940, to Tony Story and Marie (Nowosad) Story.

Alice graduated from Jones High School in 1958 and received her Masters of Education Degree from Central State University (now UCO) in 1967. In 1962, she began teaching second grade at Windsor Hills Elementary School, Oklahoma City, for 52 years. She later taught speech and remedial reading for children. Later, they would dedicate a butterfly garden in honor of her 50 years at Windsor Hills Elementary.

She was raised on a dairy farm and won several blue ribbons with her baked goods (cookies) at the Oklahoma State Fair. Alice was also active in Putnam City Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She loved creating scavenger hunts for her family. Her passions included gardening, traveling with her local travel club, and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Marie (Nowosad) Story and a brother, Jimmie ( J.D.) Story.

Survivors include a nephew Jimmie and wife Nichole Story of Choctaw; Bonus grandkids Tony Austin and Maddy Story, Madison and Michael Cagle; and two great-great nieces Emmy and Freddie.

Friends may greet the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at the Asa Smith Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Hulse officiatin­g.
