November 24,1932- February 2, 2023

Our Beloved Doreen made a peaceful transition on Thursday February 2, late in the afternoon. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday among friends and family with her favorite raspberry cake and plenty of festivities.

Doreen was born in Firth Idaho on November 24, 1932, the second of six children. Born to Swedish and Danish parents. She was a lovely Scandinavian lady.

Upon graduating high school, Doreen embarked on a career with Continental Airlines in Denver where she met her future husband and father of her four children George Stewart.

Doreen and George were married in Idaho Falls in 1954 and remained married until George passed in 1980. Children William, Carol, Douglas, and Donald survive their parents.

Those who have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Doreen were surely touched by her kindness and gentle nature. In addition to raising her four children, she mentored countless others. Aaron, Lexi, andHayley were like her own grandchildren and very dear to her. Doreen was devoted to her six grandchildren, Haley, Corey, and Samuel, along with Robert, Stephen, and Brandon, and was resolute in spending time with them. She is survived by two great-grandchildren, Magnus and Blythe Thomas, whose pictures grace her home.

Doreen was a master gardener, an outstanding cook, a voracious reader, and an expert seamstress. She excelled in business management and valued literacy and learning. She devoted her time volunteering to teach reading to both you and old. She changed lives. Doreen was a woman of strong intellect, deep faith, and conviction.

In 1982 Doreen marriedMarshall Smith. They enjoyed a beautiful marriage for nearly 20 years. Marshall passed, and Doreen did not remarry. Marshall was a tough act to follow!

Doreen leaves behind a legacy of love and acceptance, teaching us to start with ourselves right where we are to make the world a better place. Hermemory will remain in our hearts and minds and we are grateful to have had her in our lives.
