Liz Scott finished with 20 points and eight rebounds and the 16th-ranked OU women's basketball team breezed to its fourth straight win with an 85-68 victory over Kansas State on Sunday in Manhattan, Kansas.

Scott made 8 of 13 shots from the floor and 4 of 6 free throws for the Sooners (20-4, 10-3), who closed within a game of No. 20 Texas in the Big 12 Conference race for first place. She also blocked two shots.

Madi Williams scored 16 on 8-of-10 shooting for OU. She added five assists and four rebounds but also had seven of her team's 20 turnovers. Aubrey Joens pitched in with 11 points and six boards off the bench, while Ana Llanusa scored 10 before fouling out.

Former Tulsa Holland Hall star Gabby Gregory, who played her first three collegiate seasons at OU, carried the load for the Wildcats (14-11, 3-9) with 24 points and six rebounds. Gregory hit 6 of 19 shots with two 3-pointers and 10 of 11 free throws.

OU's Taylor Robertson, the Division I career leader in 3-pointers made, didn't connect until the fourth quarter when she buried two to push her career total to 513. She finished with seven points. Robertson set a Sooners record with her 141st career start, moving past Danielle Robinson (200812) for the top spot.

OU men's gymnastics team beats top-ranked Stanford

The second-ranked OU men's gymnastics team had its best all-around score since 2019 as it recorded a 418.900 to beat No. 1 Stanford (413.800) and No. 11 William & Mary (380.750) on Saturday at McCasland Field House in Norman.

OU's Zach Nunez finished with a 83.550 in the all-around, placing second behind Stanford's Asher Hong (85.600). Another OU gymnast who stood out was Ignacio Yockers, who scored a 15.100 on pommel horse as he placed first.

OU claimed three events — floor exercise (70.700), pommel horse (71.250) and high bar (68.450).

OU has not lost at McCasland Field House since 2007, winning 59 consecutiv­e meets during that stretch. Stanford has won three consecutiv­e men's gymnastics national titles.

OU softball edges Washington

The top-ranked OU softball team beat No. 14 Washington 5-4 Saturday at the Mark Campbell Invitation­al in Irvine, California.

Nicole May played a big role in the win for the Sooners (4-0) as she entered in relief in the fourth frame and pitched 31⁄ scoreless innings. The right-hander

allowed one hit and struck out eight. She sealed the win with two runners in scoring position in the seventh. OU starting pitcher Jordy Bahl was credited with the win. She tossed 32⁄

innings and gave four runs and six hits. She had four strikeouts and six walks. OU's Cydney Sanders and Alyssa Brito each had two RBIs. Sanders hit an RBI single in the first inning, while Brito had a homer in the third.

Oklahoma State softball falls to Maryland

The Oklahoma State softball team dropped its first game of the season as Maryland defeated the third-ranked Cowgirls 11-6 Sunday at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Oklahoma State fell to 2-1, while Maryland improved to 3-1.

Virginia Tech transfer Ivy Rosenberry started in the circle, making her first appearance as a Cowgirl. She tossed 21⁄ innings and allowed three earned

3 runs.

Former Southmoore star Tallen Edwards led Oklahoma State at the plate. The freshman had two hits and drove in three runs.

Extra points OU women's gymnastics:

The topranked Sooners finished with a score of 198.125 as it won the four-team Metroplex Challenge on Saturday night at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. OU trailed heading into the final rotation but closed with a 49.675 on floor for the victory. Placing behind the Sooners were No. 11 Alabama (198.000), No. 16 Arkansas (197.125) and No. 24 Stanford (196.725). OU's Jordan Bowers scored a career-high 39.750 for her third allaround title of the season.

NBA: The Thunder announced Sunday it has signed forward/center Olivier Sarr to a two-way contract. A native of Niort, France, Sarr is listed at 6-foot-11 and 240 pounds. He has played in four games this season with the Thunder's G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Sarr played in 22 games with the Thunder last season and made two starts. He averaged 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Sarr played at Wake Forest for three seasons before transferri­ng to Kentucky.
