GUTHRIE - Lyle Dennis Foxworthy, 85, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed on Thursday, February 9th, surrounded with love from his family. Dennis was born to Lyle Clarence Foxworthy and Irene Beatrice Willis Foxworthy in May 1937, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Dennis graduated from Newkirk High School and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In his youth, he became an Eagle Scout and spent much of his early adult life as a Scout Master. Dennis spent many years in the Savings and Loan business while also managing The Foxes Den antique, collectibles, and estate sale business. Dennis was never a stranger to anyone, loved by all and one of the most generous people. His passion for antiques, estate sales and the many travels to Round Top were at the top of every conversation. Trips to the mountains of Colorado and fishing at the White River in Arkansas, were among the many joys he shared. Aside from his life-long love of antiques, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the shining stars in his eyes. Dennis’s parents and wife of 55 years, Myra Foxworthy preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of four years, Patricia Jean Foxworthy; son, Dirk Alan and wife, Jeanice of Boynton Beach, Florida; daughter Erin Kay and husband Michael Brawner of Woodward, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Travis Brawner and wife Jordan of Woodward, Oklahoma, Kaleb Brawner and wife Cindy of Vici, Oklahoma, Nathan Foxworthy and Alexis Foxworthy, of Prairie Village, Kansas and Alex VanLiew of Boynton Beach, Florida; six great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Mason, Lincoln and Haydon Brawner of Woodward, Oklahoma and Grayson and Leo VanLiew – Gauthier of Boynton Beach, Florida. We will share in a causal Celebration of Life in honor of Dennis on March 4, 2023, from 3-5pm at Melrose on May, located at 11205 N May Drive, Suite B, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Dennis Foxworthy to the American Heart or Lung Association.
