Francis Tuttle, OUHSC join to give nursing students experience, jobs

Francis Tuttle Technology Center and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center are partnering to give nursing students a real-world experience and direct access to jobs. Students in the licensed practical nursing (LPN) program at Francis Tuttle will take their nursing leadership clinical at OU. This allows students to gain crucial experience while connecting them to job opportunities.

Nursing students who are nearing graduation are assigned to nurses who will precept them during the workday. This assists the students with the transition to the professional world as they take the lead in patient-care experiences. The nursing leadership clinical gives the students firsthand knowledge of medical-surgical and neurological acute care areas, in addition to various outpatient clinics. It also gives students an opportunity to network and transition into their first job.
