Dorothy Ann Thomas

OKLAHOMA CITY - Dorothy Ann (Schaff) Thomas was born on March 5, 1935, in Worland Wyoming to parents Carl Schaff and Lola Miller. Dorothy passed from this life on March 6th, 2023, one day after her 88th birthday. Raised in Worland, she graduated from Washakie County High School in 1953. Later that same year she married Raymond Thomas. In 1955 she and Raymond and their two young boys moved to Norman, OK so Raymond could study Petroleum Engineering at OU. The family made numerous moves to various oilfield towns in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, North Dakota, and California. Dorothy attended nursing school in North Dakota and obtained her LPN certification in 1971. She worked for various doctors before her and Raymond’s retirement in 1990 and move to Oklahoma City. Dorothy was married to Raymond for 47 years until his passing in 2000. She is predeceased by her parents, and brother Donnie Schaff. She is survived by stepbrother Michael Schaff and wife Diana, sons Carl Thomas and wife Ann, Robert Thomas and wife Barbara, Steven Thomas and wife Stacy, and daughter Patricia Coley. She was a grandmother to 9, great grandmother to 6 and great-great grandmother to 1. Dorothy’s memorial service will be held on Saturday March 11th at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Oklahoma City at 10AM, where she will be buried next to her husband, mother, and brother.
