PAMPA - Virginia G. Lewis, 95, of Pampa, Texas, and formerly of Oklahoma City, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in Wheeler, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, conducted by the family. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory of Pampa.

Virginia was born on January 8, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Coitt and Mignon Armstrong. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City. On April 6, 1948, in Wichita Falls, TX, Virginia married the love of her life, Benjamin Lewis. They were married for 31 years, until he preceded her in death on March 27, 1979.

Virginia was an amazing woman who loved her family dearly. She adored Elvis and would make sure others knew that the two of them shared birthdays. She also enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, caring for her animals, and much more. She will be remembered as a tough, stubborn old bird who did things on her own terms.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Lewis; and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Elvonda Williams and husband Ronnie of Pampa; 4 grandchild­ren, Michele Sheffield and husband Mike of Sanger, Texas, Ronella Medley and husband Donnie of Pampa, Texas, Timothy Williams and wife Jackie of Canyon, Texas, and Benjamin Williams and wife Katy of Rosenburg, Texas; 10 great-grandchild­ren; 1 great-great grandchild and one on the way; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
