OKLAHOMA CITY - Susan Hayes Parker Our radiant and exquisite Susu left this life on February 1, 2024, surrounded by family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, Susu, and life partner. Susan Hayes Parker was born on March 10, 1951 in Oklahoma City to Yvonne Hayes Parker and William Mullins Parker. Susan grew up in Oklahoma City with her brothers, Richard Mullins Parker and Stephen Hayes Parker. The three enjoyed time spent with their beloved parents in Palm Springs at Thunderbir­d Country Club and Harbor Springs, Michigan. In her youth, Susan was an avid horse rider, spending time English style riding. Susan attended Casady School, graduating in 1969 amongst some of her closest friends. After which, she attended Pineview Manor, receiving a degree in History at Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Susan returned to Oklahoma City where she met her first husband, Robert Douglass, and they were married in 1974. Together they had two children, Lauren and Parker. The couple ran Robert Douglass Formal Wear, a successful bridal and formal wear store, involving them in weddings and formal events across the city. In 1996, Susan began dating her partner of now 27 years, Drew Neville. The two frequently traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona and Harbor Springs, Michigan, where together they would avidly golf and enjoy time with their standard poodle, Mr. Bates. The couple also frequently attended their grandchild­ren’s sporting events. Drew’s love and care for Susan continued up until her last day, as he visited her everyday at Iris Memory Care. In her spare time, Susan devoted herself to various organizati­ons across the city. Serving as a chairman and other various positions of the Beaux Arts Ball and the Winter Ball; a board member of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation; and a member of the Oklahoma City Junior League. Susan was an avid needlepoin­ter and also enjoyed MahJongg with friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Yvonne and William Parker. She is survived by Drew Neville and his sons, John and Ted; her daughter Lauren Douglass Sullivan and husband Andy Sullivan along with their children Hayes, Lucille, Grant, and Rhett; her son, Parker Hayes Douglass, his wife Amy Douglass and their son, Doc. Also surviving her are her brothers Richard and his wife Jan Parker, Steve Parker, and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jimmy Everest Cancer Center. In celebratio­n of her beautiful life, a reception will be held at Oklahoma City Golf & Country from 2-4 pm on Friday, February 9th. We love you more, Susu.
