YUKON - Kay Frances (Cross) Rischard, a longtime resident of Yukon, OK passed away peacefully on Sat., Feb. 3, 2024 at the age of 85. Kay was born on July 11, 1938 in Okla. City, OK. She attended Mount St. Mary High School, graduating in 1956. Shortly after graduation, she met her husband of nearly 64 years, William (Bill) Rischard. Bill and Kay married on April 4th, 1959. They moved their family to Yukon OK where they were faithful members of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. As a mother of four, Kay enrolled at Central State University in Edmond, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Special Education. Kay was a dedicated Special Education teacher at Ranchwood Elementary School and Yukon High School. Kay enjoyed a lifelong hobby of sewing and needle work, delivered meals on wheels for several years and was involved in her church and community. A loving wife and mother, Kay loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchild­ren, and great grandchild­ren. Bill and Kay delighted in attending ballgames and school events for three generation­s. Their grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren were the loves of their life. Kay’s love, nurturing, spiritual strength, and personal perseveran­ce has influenced three generation­s, and her memory will continue to shape generation­s to come. Kay is survived by her four children Mark Rischard and wife Kim, Mike Rischard and wife Megan, Debi Reddick, Pam Charvat and husband John; her grandchild­ren Rikki Reddick, Nikki Kennedy and husband Chris, Rachel Truong and husband Dzung, Bailey Holly and husband Brett, Emily Reynolds and husband Tyler, Connor Rischard, Carly Rischard, Jacob Charvat, Ryan Sparkman, and Evan Sparkman and wife Rachel; great-grandchild­ren Jaxon Kennedy, Charlie Kay Kennedy, Avery Sparkman, Asa Truong, Henry Sparkman, Anders Holly, Reese Truong, Ruth Reynolds, Maia Holly, and Nolan Truong; and sisters Joann Pharr and Janet Gray. Kay was predecease­d by her husband, Bill, parents, John ( Jack) and Belva Cross, and infant brother Robert Lindsey Cross. Viewing is available starting at noon on Wed., Feb. 7, followed by a Vigil service at 6:00 pm at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary service to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thurs., Feb. 8 at 10:30 am at St. John Nepomuk Church in Yukon, OK, with interment following at 1:30 pm at Resurrecti­on Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
