AT&T awards $27,000 grant to support Latino tutoring

Latino Community Development Agency was recently awarded a $27,000 grant by AT&T. This funding will significantly enhance the agency’s efforts to provide essential afterschool tutoring and digital literacy training to high school students in the Oklahoma City metro area who struggle or are falling behind in their studies.

The grant will specifically support the expansion of the agency’s educational programs, aimed at assisting students in grades 9-12 in Oklahoma City Public Schools. A key component is the recruitment of students through the already established Latino clubs in local schools, ensuring that the assistance is directed where it’s most needed. The agency will also use a portion of the grant to provide laptops to students who lack technology at home.
