OU MEN’S BASKETBALL: Junior forward John Hugley IV plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report Friday from On3’s Joe Tipton.
Hugley IV averaged 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per game this season. He missed the Sooners’ final eight games due to surgery to repair a meniscus injury.
The Cleveland, Ohio, native began his career with three seasons at Pittsburgh.
Hugley IV is the second OU player to enter the portal following Otega Oweh, who announced his intention on Monday. There will seemingly be more Oklahoma portal entries as players mull their future after falling short of an NCAA Tournament berth.
Seniors Le’Tre Darthard, Maks Klanjseck and Soares are all out of eligibility. Sam Godwin has an extra year of eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s unclear whether or not he’ll return to Norman.
OSU MEN’S BASKETBALL: Another of the Oklahoma State basketball team’s standout freshmen has entered the transfer portal.
Eric Dailey Jr., a 6-foot-8 forward, is officially in the portal, The Oklahoman has confirmed. The news was initially reported by 247Sports.com.
A versatile swingman, Dailey averaged 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 49.6% from the floor and 33.3% from 3-point range. Dailey came to OSU as a four-star recruit from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
He joins Brandon Garrison, the 6foot-11 center from Del City as the second of OSU’s talented freshmen to depart the program in the aftermath of coach Mike Boynton’s dismissal earlier this month.
