The annual observance is held the first Thursday of May, inviting people of faith to pray for the nation. This year’s theme is “Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World,” based on based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31, which states, “For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness.”

Hosted by the Oklahoma National Day of Prayer Task Force team, activities will be held on the south plaza of the Capitol and participants may bring their own lawn chairs. The events will be held on the second floor rotunda in case of inclement weather, otherwise the second floor rotunda will be used as an area for small-group intercession throughout the day.
