WEST SENECA — Elizabeth F. Vogan, age 99, died June 13, 2012. She was born in Geneva, Nov. 27, 1912 to George E. and Louise Oughterson Fordon. Mrs. Vogan grew up on a dairy farm near Geneva and graduated from Geneva High School and William Smith College. She completed 24 hours of library courses at Geneseo State Teachers College. She taught English at Mooers High School for three years and later substitute­d in English and library in area schools. She was the librarian at Mooers Free Library for 40 years.

She married Paul E. Vogan June 22, 1937 who died in May, 2007. Their three sons and two daughters survive: Robert ( Ruth) of Orchard Park; John ( Madli) of Candiac, Quebec; Carolyn Tysinger of Clayton, Calif.; James Vogan of Orchard Park; and Pamela ( Richard) Lynch of Oneida. She is also survived by 12 grandchild­ren, 26 great- grandchild­ren, and one great- great- grandchild. She was a member of and active in Mooers Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school and Release Time classes and was secretary- treasurer of Wesleyan Women for 40 years.

She enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, poetry, letter writing, crocheting, flower arranging, and keeping a journal.

She was pre- deceased by her parents and a brother and sister.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 22 from 2- 4 p. m. and 7- 9 p. m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburg­h. A funeral service will be held at Mooers Wesleyan Church on June 23 at 10: 30 a. m. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Mooers.
