——— Members of the Stockbridg­e Valley Ruritan Club and Future Farmers of American have built a new community bulletin board at Munnsville.

——— The recipients of the Daily Dispatch Athlete of the Year awards for 1986- 87 are a pair of Canastota seniors: Mike New, a standout in football, wrestling and baseball, and Patty Wiegand, an All- American in cross country and track.

——— Chittenang­o won the trophies for best appearing company with band, most men in line, and best appearing auxiliary in the parade held June 16 that highlighte­d the 17th annual Canastota Firemen’s Field Days.

——— With a score of 166, Deborah Austin of Kenwood finished second among 217 junior golfers from 17 states in the National Pee Wee Championsh­ips at Orlando, Florida.

——— The Broad Street Hospital Auxiliary, organized in 1914, disbanded at a meeting held in the Nurses’ Home, as the facility is soon to be closed and demolished.
