Socialism threatens America

-

To The Editor:

There are at least four reasons every person in the world is different: health, morals, ambition and intelligence.

Not everybody has the same health. There are people with good morals and people with bad morals. People with bad morals lie, cheat, steal, hurt other people and are selfish.

There has been a struggle between selfish people and unselfish people ever since I can remember.

First there was Adolf Hitler. He was the most selfish person in history and what was worse, he thought he was the smartest person in the world. He got his two buddies from Italy and Japan to go along with him and they thought they could rule the world and they probably would have if it wasn’t for the freedom-loving people of the United States of America.

Then came the socialist, communist leaders in Russia who thought they were the smartest people in the world. They thought they could make a perfect society if the government owned everything and the people were just puppets of the government.

That’s what socialism does, it makes people into government puppets with a noose around their necks and the government has a hold of the rope on the other end.

I believe this November election is a turning point in American history like Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Either we continue down the road to more social engineering and bigger and bigger government or we go back to a freedom-loving government like we had in the past.

I don’t like seeing our children and grandchildren growing up as government puppets with a noose around their necks. Ernie Eddy Oneida
