Shawn M. O’Herien, 53, of 533 Grand St., Oneida, left this life surrounded by the people who loved him on Wednesday evening, Feb. 13, 2013, in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Shawn was born in Syracuse on July 15, 1959, a son of Michael Rossi and Mary Ella O’Herien. He grew up and resided most of his life in Oneida. He attended St. Patrick’s School and Oneida High School, Class of 1977.

He was employed and retired from Carrier Corp. Syracuse. He was most proud of his work career in Georgia as an onsite constructi­on manager.

Shawn was a free spirit and cherished his family and friends and especially his grandchild­ren. He loved to share his stories and everyone has a Shawn story. He had many hobbies including hunting and fishing, but most of all, his favorite hobby was racing.

Surviving besides his father are his three children, Shaun O’Herien and his companion, Nicole; Brandi Haberle, and her fiancé, Zachary, and Dalton O’Herien and his companion, Erin. He is also survived by Tracy Curtis and her three daughters, Tarah and Adam Carinci, Candace Curtis and her fi-

ancé, Bobby, Kayleigh Curtis and her fiancé, Mikey; his grandchild­ren, Cheyanne Nicole, Mackenzye, Ranae, Damon, Bryson ( Budger), Colton, Ashlynne, Makennah, Kaelynne, and Arriannah; two brothers, Michael O’Herien and Grady O’Herien; two sisters and a brother- inlaw, Christine and David Koons, and Cynthia McAree; a half- brother, Jamie V. DeMauro, III; a half- sister, Lola Paro; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his life line, Tracy Miller and her husband Keith and their children, Michael, Mark, Keisha, Danielle, Landen Michael Musacchio, Morgan Miller; his childhood best friend and guardian angel, Carolyn Kaplan, and his four best buds, Zig, Steve, Matt and Timmy.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 from the Ironside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kapral officiatin­g.
